Mary Jettner

Mary “Bette” Jettner, age 93, of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015. She was born June 24, 1922 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Carl and Christen (Horan) Feyen. Bette graduated from Davenport High School in Davenport, Iowa in 1940. She was married to Guy H. Jettner in Dubuque on November 18, 1944 and he preceded her in death on August 2, 1989. Bette was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Michael and Dan Jettner; two sisters and one brother.  In 1979 she retired from Consumers Power Company where she had worked for over 20 years. She was a social member at the Riverside Country Club for many years and loved to golf and play cards as well as do puzzles. Bette also liked to bowl and bowled in many leagues in town for 60 years. Surviving are her daughter in law: Tonya Jettner of Battle Creek; four grandchildren: Todd Jettner of Fort Wayne, IN, Tim (Theresa) Jettner of Texas, Joslin Fisher and Dustin (Megan) Moon of Battle Creek; four great-grandchildren: Sydney, Philip, Jalinn and Dakota; one brother: Joe Feyen of Dubuque, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
