Mary Jane Graw, age 82 of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012. She was born June 24, 1929 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Ray and Isabel (Huntley) Zimmerman. Mrs. Graw graduated from Hastings High School in 1947 and on April 15, 1952 she married Clifton Graw, Jr. For several years she worked as a nurses aid at Leila Hospital, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, member of GWRRA Motorcycle Club and later GWTA Motorcycle Club, enjoyed making crafts, sewing, flower gardening, camping and bowling, and a member of the Emmett Street Missionary Church. Mrs. Graw was preceded in death by her husband on October 22, 2006, as well as an infant daughter, Cheryl Elaine Graw in 1957 and one brother, Aaron Zimmerman. Surviving is her son: Clifton R. (Christine) Graw of Battle Creek; grandson: Nicholas B. Graw; one brother: Edward A. (Wanda) Zimmerman of Dowling and three sisters: Margaret Hollister and Georgia Smith both of Battle Creek and Loraine (Charles) Ogden of Joplin, Missouri. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with interment to follow at Morgan Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Emmett Street Missionary Church or the charity of one’s choice.
