Mary L. French, Age 90, Of Battle Creek, Passed away January 14, 2016. Mary was born in Indiana and was raised at Brook Lodge in Augusta, MI. In Battle Creek she completed her RN training in 1946 and worked as a caring nurse until she was 81. Mary enjoyed her life to the fullest especially spending time with family, friends, having a good time and being outdoors with her flowers. She always loved to travel and see new things, be it a cruise ship or riding in a car seeing new wonders, “road-hunting” with her son or walking looking for mushrooms. She also enjoyed her other home in Big Pine Key, Florida, Looking at the wonders from a boat to riding looking for “critters”. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister, her husband, Robert “Bob”, a son, William “Bill”, a daughter, Christine “Chris” Thunder. She is survived by a son, Dan (Marilyn Malmquist) of Iron River, MI; son-in-law, Jerry Thunder; sister-in-law, JoAnn (Bob) King of Battle Creek; special friend, John Huntington of Battle Creek; a like son, Don (Karen) Patton of Iron River, MI; granddaughter, Heather (Chad) Powell; grandson, Pete (Beth) Thunder of Battle Creek; six great granddaughters and many others calling her mother, grandma and aunt Mary. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2016, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
