Mary L. Doolittle, 92, of Battle Creek passed away Sunday August 7, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born on November 8, 1918 in Branch County, MI to Marlin and Jesse (Lossing) Buys. Mary married Rex Doolittle, he preceded her in death in 1963. She was employed 25 years as a nurse attendant at Fort Custer State Home and then Coldwater State Home. Mary is survived by sons, James R. Doolittle, of Ft. Wayne, IN; Dean M. (Marilyn) Doolittle, of Houston, TX; Stephen (Estelle) Doolittle, of Sherwood, Daniel (Vicki) Doolittle, of East Leroy, daughters, Lorene Bush, of Battle Creek, Margaret (Lloyd) Smith, of Sherwood, Wilma (Dave) Besko, of Brighton, CO; Mary (Wesley) Smith, of Battle Creek, 26 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren 13 great great grandchildren, a sister, Gwendolyn Morgenstern, of Midland, MI. She was also preceded in death by sons, Larry and David Doolittle, a granddaughter, Kathy, grandsons, Tony and William, and several brothers and sisters. Mary had attended First Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed sewing, collecting dolls, camping and spending winters in Texas. Family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday August 10, 2011 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where services will be held 2pm Thursday with Rev. Richard Thomas officiating.
