Mary Ann Conine, age 70, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on February 14, 2024, at Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born on April 15, 1953, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Edwin and Esther (Zander) Nelson. Mary was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek and attended Battle Creek Central High School, where she graduated in 1971. After completing her education, she embarked on her journey as a homemaker and also worked as a floor technician at Kelimeyer Building Services until her retirement in 2015. In February 1972, Mary married the love of her life, Kenneth Conine. Together they created a beautiful life filled with love and cherished memories. Sadly, Kenneth preceded her in death in 2015. Mary had a passion for life and enjoyed pursuing various hobbies and interests. She was an avid bowler who found great joy in spending time on the lanes with her friends. In addition to bowling, Mary also found solace in fishing and camping. However, nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by her loving family. Mary legacy lives on through her surviving family members and friends. Her children, Brian (Tina) Conine, Kenny (Dawn) Conine, and Tony Conine Jr. will cherish their mother's memory forever. Mary brothers, Milo and Edward Nelson alongside her sister Lorena Peak will always hold her close to their hearts. Mary was adored by nine grandchildren who were eternally grateful for the love she showered upon them throughout their lives. Her great-grandchild will grow up hearing stories of the wonderful woman she was.
To honor Mary life, a visitation will be held at the Richard A Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Battle Creek on February 19, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M.
