Mary Burd

Mary T.  Burd, Age 77, Of Battle Creek, Died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at her residence. Mary was born on March 20, 1935, in Lansing, MI,the daughter of Edward and Marie (O’Connell) Turner. She had been a lifelong resident of the area. Mary was married on February 23, 1956, at Pine Creek to Lawrence E. Burd who preceded her in death on October 25, 2003.  She was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and the Alanon Club. She enjoyed gambling, traveling and being with her children and grandchildren.  Surviving are children, Judie (Manuel) Rincon of St. Cloud, FL, Colleen M. (Dennis) Wright, Steve (Michelle) Burd and Robert E. (Bonnie) Burd all of Battle Creek; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Sheila (George) Kaliman of Jackson, MI, Mabel (Mike) Campbell of East Leroy; brothers, Gordon (Jan) Turner, Mike Turner and Ken (Ginger) Kamps all of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her mother in 2004. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2012, at St. Philip Catholic Church with The Rev. John Fleckenstein, V.E. officiating. Interment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice. www.henryfuneralhome.org
