Mary Kathryn Bestervelt, 91 of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011. She was born November 12, 1919 in Kalamazoo, Michigan the daughter of Ralph R. and Jenny (Broadstreet) Reagan. Mrs. Bestervelt was a 1937 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. On November 12, 1938 she was married to Peter A. Bestervelt in Kalamazoo and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2003. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church serving in many ways. Prior to her retirement in 1982, she was the secretary at Geerts Soft Water, Inc. for 30 years. Her biggest joy was spending time with her family and keeping up with the great-grandchildren’s activities. Mrs. Bestervelt is survived by her son-in-law: Richard Bepler; three grandchildren: Peter (Sandy) Bepler, Kathy (David) Shoop and Timothy (Jodi) Bepler; six great-grandchildren: Sarah (Justin) Boutwell, Samuel, Zachary and Toby Bepler, and Chloe and Joseph Shoop. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother: Jennie (Haas) Reagan, husband, daughter: Judith Bepler and five sisters. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church with visitation from 12:30 until service time at the church.
