Marvin “Mack” McGhee, age 62, of Battle Creek, died Saturday, December 7, 2013. He was born February 20, 1951 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Austin and Frances Inez (Sneed) McGhee. Mack served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a Military Policeman. Following his honorable discharge he worked at Clark Equipment Company and later Schweitzer Construction from which he retired. Mack loved animals, especially his dog Biscuit. Surviving are two children: Heath McGhee of Dublin, OH and Heather Smith of Battle Creek; six grandchildren: Dalton and Brinley McGhee, and Bradley, Amber, Holly and Emily Smith; brother, Carl McGhee and sister, Darlene Sanford both of Battle Creek. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend, please meet in the cortege assembly area prior to the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Humane Society or the V.A.
