Marvel Coleman

Marvel Jeanne Coleman, age 92 of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at her home. She was born September 10, 1929 in Hastings, Michigan the daughter of Forrest E. and Retha E. (Yarger) Coleman. Jeanne loved to tell how she attended a one room schoolhouse and went on to graduate from Hastings High School in 1946. She worked in the optical industry for 42 years retiring in 1993 from Optical Supply Inc. Jeanne enjoyed painting, crocheting, knitting, flower gardening and animals. She is survived by her longtime and best friend of 62 years Bernice “Bea” Eddy, one niece Susan Lynne Radtke, and many Coleman cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Jacquelin Coleman and Ruth Radtke. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Fuller Cemetery in Carlton Township. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of South-Central Michigan.
