Martha Jean (Marty) Dillery, age 90, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020 at her home in Battle Creek. She was born June 8, 1929 in Marion, Ohio the daughter of Leslie Earl and Ethel Gladys (Geer) Adams. On July 27, 1951 she was married to Dean G. Dillery who survives. Also surviving are four children: Dan (Barbara) Dillery of Melbourne, Florida, Kirk (Robin) Dillery of Battle Creek, Scott (Sue) Dillery of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Leslie Shaw of Detroit; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Kramp of Marion, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Marty was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Reva Doris Adams and Loretta Murphy and two brothers: Fred and Don Adams. Marty was a Registered Nurse retiring from Albion College in 1988 as the Director of the campus health center, having previously specialized in OB in hospitals in both Ohio and Michigan. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Albion, and Albion Interfaith Ministries. She enjoyed crafts especially sewing and quilting and absolutely adored all children. Marty consistently thought of others before herself, an example includes her travel to South Carolina to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo.
