Marlene Davis

Marlene A. Davis, Age 82, of Battle Creek, Went to be with our Lord Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Bronson Battle Creek. Marlene was born on February 20, 1934, in Manistique, MI, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Zalice) Gregurash. She was a graduate of Manistique High School and received an Associate’s Degree in nursing from St. Mary's Nursing School.  She married Donald J. Davis on April 24, 1954. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2015.  Marlene and Don lived in Battle Creek since 1958.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Marlene was employed as a procurement clerk at the Federal Center in Battle Creek for several years after her children were out of high school. Retiring to be a loving caregiver to her husband Don who battled Alzheimer's disease for 16 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Surviving are her children, Duane J. (Carol) Davis of Battle Creek, Thomas S. (Robin) Davis of Three Rivers, Jon F. (Deb) Davis of Tucson, AZ and Patti Jo (Kevin) Rich of Midland, MI; 9 grandchildren; sisters, Adelle Deloria of Eveleth, MN and Beverly Goddard of Coloma, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Jerome Gregurash. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2016, at St. Jerome Catholic Church. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Battle Creek Senior Health Partners for benefit of Caregiver Respite or the Alzheimer’s Association.  www.henryfuneralhome.org
