Mark William Owens

Passed away on December 11, 2023, At Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. He was born on June 14, 1946, in Wheeling, west Virginia, the son of Raymond and Bessie (Riemenschneider) Owens. Mark was a 1964 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He was a police officer in Newport News, Virginia, and later a police officer in the City of Battle Creek. In 1976 he became a branch manager for the Secretary of State office and retired in 1997. Mark then worked for Lansing Community College Truck Drivers Training School in Fort Custer for 3 years. In 2000, he worked for the City of Battle Creek as a city bus driver and retired in 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Wanda Owens. Mark is survived by two sons, David and James Owens; three stepdaughters, Lori Perez, Trena Johnson and Carla Fisher; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mark enjoyed traveling with his wife, being with his family and enjoyed golfing and bowling. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3 to 6:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. www.henryfuneralhome.org
