Marjorie Christine (Wilder) Nixon, age 78, of Battle Creek, passed away on December 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 9:00 AM. Pastor Jim Codde will officiate with burial to follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens in Battle Creek. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5pm. Marjorie was born in Battle Creek on May 18, 1935. On August 8, 1957 she married Ralph Charles Nixon in Battle Creek, Michigan. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Mercy School of Nursing in 1957 and she also received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Western Michigan University. She attended Cooley Law School. She worked at Leila Hospital’s pediatric unit and various doctor’s offices in the Battle Creek community. She finished her career in nursing as an occupational nurse at Kellogg's Corporation in 1998. Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, on February 2, 1994 and two brothers, Ralph W. Wilder and Richard E. Wilder. Marjorie is survived by her sisters Barbra Butzirus of Florida, Lily Jaress of Arizona, Mary Shirk of Michigan, and sisters-in-law Doris Wilder and Linda Wilder both of Michigan, and her children; Ralph (Dawn) Nixon of Missouri, Timothy (Jamie) Nixon of Hastings, Bethany Lepper of Battle Creek; grandchildren Kathryn (Tyler) Cole, Zachary Nixon, Taylor Nixon, Blaire Nixon, Jerrod Lepper, Peyton Lepper, Grace Nixon; great grandchildren Colton Cole, Gabriel Nixon, and Owen Cole.
