Marjorie B. Hanlon, age 86, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, June, 29, 2014. She was born January 26, 1928 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Edward and Lois (Robb) Bassett. Marjorie graduated from Western Michigan University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and received her teaching degree from Michigan State University in 1968. She taught at Franklin Elementary for over 20 years prior to her retirement. A longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marjorie was married on August 26, 1950 to Richard Michael Hanlon who preceded her in death on November 3, 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother Wilson Bassett. Surviving is her daughter: Barbara (Fred) Bodin; three grandchildren: Matthew (Betsy) Gilbert, Patrick Gilbert and Sherlyn Bodin; three great-grandchildren: Vanessa, Allison and Lila Gilbert; sister, Jean Branson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. www.henryfuneralhome.org
