Marjorie J. “Margie” Bristol, 88, of Marshall passed away Tuesday October 16, 2012 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was born on June 17, 1924 in Battle Creek to Arthur B. Morse Sr. and Freda “Marie” (Beach) Morse.
Margie graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1942. She married Capt. Wayne E. “Butch” Bristol on July 24, 1977, he preceded her in death. Margie was employed by the Kellogg Company, Central Electric, Percy Jones Hospital, Verona Electric, Drs. Sleight, Colquhoun, and Allbright, and Drs. Amos, Huntington, Comai, and Morgan.
Marjorie is survived by a daughter, Dianne (Vee) Kalnins, of Tekonsha, a son, Brian “Mike” (Melody) Baker, of Portland, OR; a granddaughter, Salina (Steve) Hyder, of Monroe, MI; a step-grandson, Ken James , of California, nephews, Tom (Connie) Morse, of Battle Creek, Arthur “Ben” (Brenda) Morse III, of Melbourne, FL; great nephews, Aaron (Laura) Morse, of Oklahoma, and Thomas “T.J.” Morse, of Battle Creek, and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Morse, of Battle Creek. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Arthur “Buss” Morse Jr.
Marjorie was a member of Medical Assistants Association and Bedford Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing semi-pro softball during WWII, ceramics, music, reading, and crossword puzzles.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Memorial contributions may be given to Family Health Center of Battle Creek or Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
