Marion Smith

Marion Smith, age 87, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at The Oaks at NorthPointe Woods. She was born August 5, 1928 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Issac Jonathan and Letha (Wentworth) Stout. Marion was a 1947 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and worked at Post Foods as a secretary until her retirement. She was a member of the Post 25 Year Club, enjoyed summer vacations on Grand Traverse Bay, quilting, downhill skiing and playing bridge and golf. On June 1, 1947 she was married to Theral W. Smith who survives. Also surviving is her son: William (Kim) Smith of Battle Creek; grandson: Mike Smith of Battle Creek; great-granddaughter: Madison; two sisters: Jackie Clay of California and Roba Coffman of Battle Creek; and several nieces and nephews. Marion was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Rossman. Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Worden of Hickory Corners Bible Church officiating.
