Marilyn M. Guehl, age 80 of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013. She was born April 27, 1932 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Ira and Vivian (Thayer) Harvey. A 1950 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, Marilyn began working in the office at Eaton Manufacturing and later worked at Vision Services from which she retired. She was very active in the Battle Creek Follies, was an accomplished pianist and taught piano to many in the area. She had been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was the children’s music director, and was a past president of Riverside Elementary P.T.A. and former Campfire Girl Leader. On August 31, 1952, Marilyn was married to James A. Guehl who survives. Also surviving are three children: Jamie (Herbert) Tenney of Battle Creek, Christie (Daniel) Gillett of Otsego and Casey (Andrea) Guehl of Springfield; six grandchildren: Benjamin, Molly, Lacey, Jesse, Michael and Samuel; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Trudell officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
