Marieta Mclane

Marieta E. (Campbell-Rizor) McLane, age 90, of Battle Creek, formerly of The Villages, Florida, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Trudy’s Home. She was born October 24, 1928 in Hope Township, Barry County, Michigan the daughter of Wallace and Bernice (Wertman) Campbell. Marieta was a 1947 graduate of Hastings High School and had worked at E.W. Bliss, Kroger, Michigan National Bank and Omni Credit Union. She and her husband Jack Rizor moved to Battle Creek in 1963 and were members of the First United Methodist Church. She loved to dance especially Square Dancing and Ballroom Dancing, playing golf and traveling. Following the death of her husband Jack Rizor in 1988, Marieta had a short marriage to Jess Hettinger before she moved to The Villages. She returned to Battle Creek in 2012. While living in Florida she married Robert McLane and together they enjoyed dancing, playing golf, shuffleboard, Bocci and card club. She was a member of New Covenant Methodist Church at The Villages. Her husband Robert McLane preceded her in death along with her sister Myrtle Benton and three brothers: Maurice, Merl and Myron Campbell. Marieta is survived by her seven children: Larry (Kathleen) Rizor of Battle Creek, Dennis (Cary) Rizor of Ypsilanti, Rick (Brenda) Rizor of Battle Creek, Renae (Mark) Feldpausch of Delton, Rebecca (Dennis) Lett of Grand Rapids, Jacqueline (Randy) Minor of Odessa, Florida and David (Susan) Rizor of Battle Creek; twenty-three grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren.  A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2019 at The First United Methodist Church of Battle Creek with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to thank Trudy’s Home and Hospice of Southwest Michigan for mother’s care in the final weeks.
