Margaret Weipert

Margaret A. Weipert, age 96, of Battle Creek, passed away on July 16, 2021, at Bronson Battle Creek.  She was born on January 6, 1925, in Otsego Michigan, the daughter of Moine and Mabel (Scott) Story.  Margaret graduated from Otsego High School and came to Battle Creek in 1959.  She previously was employed as a manager of the candy counter at Sears and Roebuck when it was located downtown Battle Creek.  Margaret was a homemaker for most of her life and would volunteer at Lakeview General Hospital in her free time.  She enjoyed golfing, puzzles, and spending time with family and special friends.  She was united in marriage on December 20, 1946, to Leo Weipert, they shared 69 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on August 27, 2016.  Also preceding her in death were her parents and a son; James Weipert on October 3, 1969.  She is survived by her son; John (Peggy) Weipert of Battle Creek, daughter; Sharon Dheel of Harbor Beach, MI., five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.  A memorial service will take place at 12:30 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, Pastor Paul Parker officiating.  Memorial contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
