Margaret Dorothy Vogt of Lakeview Senior Living passed away May 25, 2021 in her 96th year. Born April 17, 1925 to Karl & Hedvig Kroon, "Margie" lived her entire life in the Battle Creek and Delton (Wall Lake) area. She graduated from Kellogg Agricultural High School and was employed by the Kellogg Company for forty years. Margaret was married to Howard Vogt for 53 years at his passing in 2000.
She was active in Cub Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, Post School PTA, Kellogg 25 year club and Kellogg Retirees after her retirement in 1984. During her retired years she volunteered at Community Hospital, the Red Cross and the VA along with other charitable organizations in Battle Creek. She belonged to the Ladies of the Lake (Wall Lake) and was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and tutored children in reading there. During her employ at Kellogg she bowled for many years in the Friday Midnight League at Notke's and maintained a 160 average. In addition to her parents and husband, she was proceeded in death by foster parents Albert & Beda Soderlund, three sisters and their spouses, three brothers in law and their spouses along with several nephews and nieces. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, sons Terry (Bev) Vogt of Battle Creek, Steve (Elyce) Vogt of Grand Rapids, daughters Judy (Doug) Markusic of East Leroy and Carla (Darren) Baldogo of Columbus, OH.
Grand children Jason (Megan) Vogt, Justin (Sarah) Vogt, Jeff (Lisa) Vogt, Jessica (Paul) Shields, Leslie (Jon) Bush, David Vogt, Sjana (Will) Leys, Hannah Markusic, Joe Markusic, Logan Baldogo, Daralyn (Barry) Shetzer, and Kaitlyn Baldogo.
Great grandchildren Leta Plunkett, Walter Shields and Jackson Vogt. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church 2055 E. Columbia Ave., Battle Creek, MI 49014. Inurnment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
