Margaret S. “Pege” Fox, 69, of Battle Creek died Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Margaret was born on May 31, 1942, in Detroit, the daughter of Logan A. and Mary Kathryn (White) Johnson. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Lakeview High School in 1960. She was united in marriage to Jack Fowler on October 31, 1970; he preceded her in death in 1980 and Wellington “Jim” Fox on April 19, 1984; he preceded her in death in 2006. She was employed with the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1970, and then with the V.A. Hospital from 1975 until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Margaret enjoyed sewing, reading, arts and crafts and her dog Skosh. Surviving is a son, Josh L. Fowler of Hagerstown, MD; step-sons, James D. Fox of Comstock and Dan I. Fox of Paw Paw; step-daughters, Barbara Ann Morris of Comstock, Beverly Warner of Kalamazoo, Mary E. Crill of Comstock, Catherine L. Scholte of Valley Canter, CA and Christine O. Tomak of Marion, IN; brothers, Charles F. Johnson of Spring Hill, FL and John L. Johnson of Honolulu, HI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert A. and James L. Johnson. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Fort Custer National Cemetery with The Rev. Mark J. Vyverman V.F. of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Memorials may be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence.
