Margaret Parker

Margaret A. Parker, age 78 of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013. She was born August 10, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Herbert and Pearl (Strange) Goodman. On December 20, 1952 Margaret married Dewey F. Parker in Detroit, Michigan and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son: John D. Parker in May of 2005 and a great-granddaughter: Alexis Morgan. Surviving are two sons: Michael A. Parker of Battle Creek and Robert D. Parker of Bellevue; two daughters: Gloria J. Leffert and Karen M. Parker both of Bellevue; nine grandchildren: Carl Leffert, Bob Parker II, John Parker, Mandy Eggleston, Sheri Racine, Bridgette Parker, Brittany Wines, Clifton Wines and Jeremy Parker; and seven great-grandchildren. Margaret was a member of the Andrus Street Church of God. She loved her family, flower gardening and going to garage sales. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Pastor William Bingham officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
