Margaret Theresa Bessler, Age 87, Of Climax, MI, Margaret Theresa Bessler was born on November 6, 1923, in Lawrenceburg, IN. She died on May 19, 2011 from a sudden illness. She is survived by her husband William E. Bessler of Battle Creek; her sisters, Lucille and Judy Rodenberg of Lawrenceburg, IN; and her two sons, James E. Bessler of Kansas City, KS and Paul A. Bessler of Climax, MI. Margie grew up in Lawrenceburg one of five children. She attended St. Lawrence Catholic High School and began working as a secretary. She married Bill Bessler in June of 1950, becoming an Air Force officer’s wife. They first lived in Hawaii where Jim was born in 1951. A daughter, Kathy was also born but she died shortly after birth. Margie’s third child Paul was born in Austin, TX, in 1954. The family finally put roots down in Battle Creek in 1959. Marge became active at St. Joseph Catholic Church and was president of The Legion of Mary for many years, where she led efforts to care for the shut-ins and the sick. She enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite trips was to visit Jim while he was on military duty in Australia. While there she personally met and had lunch with the Royal Couple, Prince Charles and Lady Diana. In 1971 the family moved to Climax. Most recently she enjoyed life and friendship at Heritage Assisted Living. A devoted wife and mother she dedicated herself to caring for others. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Very Rev. Robert F.
