Margaret “Wanda” Baird, 86, of Battle Creek died Friday March 1, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born on February 5, 1927 in Jackson, MI to Ralph B. and Lotte (Baker) Lugar.
Wanda graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1946. She was united in marriage on April 12, 1947 to Jack Baird Sr., he preceded her in death in 1997.
Wanda is survived by a son, Jack (Ruth) Baird II, of Battle Creek, two daughters, Peggy (David) Mingus, of Minneapolis, MN and Robin Arnold, of Battle Creek, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two sisters, Donna (Harvey) Benedict, of Battle Creek and Beverly (Howard) Dykes, of Lehigh Acres, FL. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Lugar and a son-in-law, John B. Arnold.
Wanda was a very active member of the First Wesleyan Church. She had been a volunteer at Mercy Pavilion and Binder Park Zoo.
Family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Monday March 4, 2013 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10am Tuesday at the First Wesleyan Church with Rev. Dr. Robert Zuhl officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to First Wesleyan Church.
