M. Ruth Bowen, 95 of Battle Creek, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Evergreen Senior Care and Rehab Center. She was born August 27, 1916 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of William Amos and Elizabeth Jemmina (Wilson) Clark. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek and had worked at Columbia Cleaners for 50 years. She was also a volunteer for the Red Cross for many years. On July 26, 1939 she was married to Jack Bowen and he preceded her in death in 1980. Ruth was also preceded in death by her daughter: Dee Schoonard; three brothers: Clyde, Paul and Don Clark, and three sisters: Pearl Gladys Marvin, Martha Parrish and Myrtle Moffett. Surviving are two grandchildren, Tamara L (Marcial) Jimenez and Timothy L. (Connie) Schoonard both of Battle Creek; 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel. Memorials may be given to the Disabled American Veterans. Arrangements by the Richard A.
