Lyle L. Wolf, age 93, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018. He was born March 27, 1925 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Almon and Mable (Burkhart) Wolf. He had lived most of his life in Climax, Battle Creek, Galesburg and Richland. Lyle was a graduate of Lakeview High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. On July 29, 1944 he was united in marriage to the former Yvonne L. Harper who preceded him in death. Lyle was employed at the Kellogg Company for 42 years retiring in 1986 as a plant superintendent. He was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club, former member of the Gull Lakeview Golf Course, member of the American Legion, D.A.V., volunteer at the V.A. Hospital and was a member of the Ross Township Planning Commission for three years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, lawn work and wintering five months of each year in Florida. Lyle is survived by his son: Jeffrey Wolf of Battle Creek; daughter in law: Anne Wolf of Cheboygan; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Ted Wolf; brother Howard Wolf and two sisters: Irene Longman and Marjorie Hoffman. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey S. Carlson of The First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
