Lyle Willbur

Lyle A. Willbur, age 88, of Fort Gratiot, Michigan, passed away on December 3, 2017.  He was born on May 13, 1929, in Battle Creek, the son of Warren and Venna (Hughes) Willbur.  Lyle was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School in 1947.  He lived in the Battle Creek Area, and enjoyed wintering in Yuma Arizona, later making his residence in North Carolina and then Fort Gratiot.  Lyle served in the United States Army.  He was employed by the Kellogg Company for thirty-four years, before his retirement in 1988.  He enjoyed traveling, and was a member of the Kellogg twenty-five-year club.  Lyle was united in marriage on January 2, 1953 to Betty “Lois” Swafford, she preceded him in death in 1992, later he married Doris E. Willbur on September 15, 1997.  Preceding him in death is one sister; JoAnn Bain. Surviving are his wife; Doris E. Willbur of Fort Gratiot, Michigan, daughter; Nancy A. Schwarz of Kentucky, step-son, Joseph W. Seedorf of Sterling Heights, Michigan, step-daughter; Cynthia Seedorf of Deerfield Beach, FL, sisters; Carol A. Matthews of Union City, Michigan, Susanne R. Wilson of Arizona, Sharon L. Bates of Athens, Michigan, brothers; Martin N. Willbur of Kentucky, Michael W. Willbur of Battle Creek, Robin L. Willbur of Florida, granddaughter; Trisha R. Bozek, three step grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends.  Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with funeral services to immediately follow, John Willbur and Jenny Connelly officiating.  Interment to take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
