Lyle Moiles

Went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on June 11, 2018 at 9:30 p.m. at home with his wife and close friends at his side. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior on September 29, 2004 while attending an evangelistic meeting by Harold Vaughn at the family Altar Chapel and was baptized May 29, 2005 by Pastor Kyra Jackson. He was born March 6, 1931 in Corunna, MI, to Harry and Jennie (Gurden) Moiles. He married Ardella (Bowders) Moiles on December 3, 1999 in Battle Creek and shared a love that grew into a sweet closeness. He enjoyed planning trips with her to Florida and out west. He worked as a carpenter around Corunna, Owosso, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo areas. The first house he built at the age of 17 was for his mother. Last house he built for a retirement home for him and his wife in 2008. His other passion was a military career from 1952 to 1991 during which time he became a marksman in 1965, a sharp shooter on the Michigan National Guard Rifle Team in 1966, a member of the “Governors Twenty” in 1968. He placed first in the U.S. Army Forces Command Central Region Match in the 300-yard Rapid Fire, first in the 5th Army area rifle matches, first in Michigan Rifle and Pistol Association Long Range Championship in 1968 in Match 6-1000 yard iron sights. He was stationed at Fort Custer the years prior to his retirement from the Military. He attended Battle Creek Bible Church these last twelve years and enjoyed his church family. Pastor Larry Messer had become a great friend to him in his times of need. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Loyce, J.C., Otis, Victor, Carol and sisters, Leora and Loenie. Lyle is survived by a brother, Eugene of Owosso and sister, Barbara (Allen) Verrier of Florida; sons, Ronald (Candy) Moiles of Michigan and Mark Moiles of California; a daughter, Sharon (Joe) Potts of Michigan; grandsons, Jud and Evan Moiles and others; his wife Ardella. Lyle enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends, bowling with “Moiles Fur Buyers “in Owosso for several years, church potlucks and the fellowship of many church events. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 7:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Messer officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
