Lucy M. Jones, age 91, of Battle Creek, passed away on December 28, 2018 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born on December 24, 1927 in Cadillac, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas and Myrtle (Wright) Thomason. Lucy graduated in 1946 from Manton High School in Manton Michigan. She was united in marriage on December 15, 1962 to Quentin H. Jones in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lucy was previously employed in the accounting department at Post Cereals. Later, working as a real estate agent in Colorado Spring, and as a customer service representative for AT&T before retiring in 1968. Lucy was a Gray Lady for the Red Cross During WWII. Lucy’s hobbies included bowling, painting, which included murals, woodworking and landscaping. She was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Myrtle, sisters; Esther Shedd, Maxine French, Mary LaVarge, brothers; Kenneth, Floyd, Arthur, Harold, and Wilfred “Tom” Thomason. Lucy is survived by her husband; Quentin Jones of Battle Creek, daughters; Karen (Douglas) Plunkett of Pittsford, Michigan, Sharon (Dean) Denfeld of Woodstock, Georgia, sister; Dorothy Hughes of Battle Creek, grandchildren; Jason Plunkett, Christin Plunkett, Eric Denfeld and Grace Denfeld. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family receive friends on hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. Condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
