Lucille Hires

Lucille F. Hires, age 88, of Battle Creek, MI., formerly of Wellston, MI., passed away on January 8, 2020 at Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.  She was born on January 4, 1932 in Hyden, Kentucky, the daughter of Isaac and Zubie (Feltner) Fields. Lucille was previously employed by Archway Cookie Company in the packaging department for eighteen years.  She was a long standing member at the Church of Christ on 20 ^th Street.  Lucille enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, golfing, bowling, fishing, and going for long rides in the country.  She was united in marriage to Bobby H. Hires on March 28, 1985 in Battle Creek, he survives. Also surviving are sons; Vic (Judy) Bailey, Lynn Bailey, all of Battle Creek, MI., daughters; Penny Thayer Pittelkow, and Bonita Thayer both of Battle Creek, MI., step children; Robert (Lauren) Hires of Montague, MI., Mark (Cheryl) Hires of Battle Creek, MI., Beverly (Henry) Ruis of Benton Harbor, MI., Joan Thayer(Kurt)Scheisser of Battle Creek, MI., preceeding her in death by a stepson; Robert Thayer, siblings; Johnny Fields of London, KY., Ward (Bev) Fields of Battle Creek, MI., Timmy (Jan)  Fields of Battle Creek, MI., Roy (Linda) Fields of Battle Creek, MI., and Bonny Lou Fields Deyoung of Battle Creek, MI., Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 703 Capital Ave. SW, Battle Creek, MI., with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
