Loyd Sharp

Loyd Max “Red” Sharp, age 84, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017. He was born December 18, 1932 in Hammon, Oklahoma the son of William Thomas and Rosa Lena (Richardson) Sharp.  Max served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending winters in Brownsville, Texas and summers at the lake house in Paw Paw, Michigan with his wife. Max owned and operated an aluminum plant in Paw Paw supplying parts to the RV industry, owned and operated a trailer park in Brownsville and most recently helped out at Four Star Muffler Shop. Red is survived by two daughters: Gail (Steve) Arendt of Battle Creek and Ellen Russell of Kalamazoo; six grandchildren: Sara Jaynes, Scott (Sarah) Arendt, Joshua Russell, Jeremy Russell, Jenna (Sid) Shinh and Jesse Russell; seven great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Brianna, Josephine, Vivian, Sophia, Harjas and Ezra; sister Helen Jack of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann on June 21, 2009, brother Bill Sharp and his parents. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
