Louis W. Badger, age 92 of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014. He was born in 1922 in Steuben County, Indiana the son of Paul and Juanita (Reek) Badger and moved to Battle Creek where he graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1941. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII and upon his discharge returned to his job at the Kellogg Company retiring in 1996 after 55 years of employment. During this time he also established his own contracting company, Badger Builders and built many homes in the area. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 63 years Margaret “Peggy” Badger, brother Frederick Paul Badger and sister Beverly J. Parker. Mr. Badger is survived by three children: Carolyn (Victor) Savich of Asheville, NC, Gregory (Carol) Badger of Gobles, MI and Joann Diamante of Battle Creek; six grandchildren: Brian (Amber) Badger, Jennifer (David) Veasey, Eric Savich, Danielle Diamante, Angela Diamante and Derrik Diamante, and his loving companion Joyce Brown. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
