Lloyd Eakins

Lloyd Michael “Mike” Eakins, age 61, of Battle Creek, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014. He was born August 29, 1952 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Lloyd E. and Stella L. (Copeland) Eakins. Mike attended Battle Creek Public Schools and went on to receive his diploma from Lakeview High School in 1981. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Board member of the Post Sportsman’s Club. Mike loved to hunt, fish, golf and spend time with his family. He retired from Post Cereals in 2007 after 33 years of service. On June 5, 2004 he was married to Juli Ann Hudson who survives. Also surviving are his children: Kimmy (Rob) Youmans of Dowling, Michael (Chrissy) Eakins of Battle Creek and Taylor Hudson of Battle Creek; four grandchildren: Donovan, Cierra, Levi and Haley; his former wife Kathy Eakins of Battle Creek; several nieces and nephews, and many friends including Ted, Matt, Bruce, Bill and Mike “PeeWee”. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Jimmy and Larry Eakins. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Schwartz officiating.
