Linda Tyjewski

Linda L. Tyjewski, 61, of East Leroy passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence.  She was born on August 21, 1950 in Coldwater, MI to Leonard (Jr.) and Patricia A. (Swihart) Batterson. Linda graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1968.  She married Douglas L. Tyjewski on December 29, 1970 in Battle Creek.  Linda was employed by the Kellogg Company for 26 years retiring in 2005. She is survived by her husband, Douglas, daughters, Patti M. (Todd) Ernst and Jennifer L. (Andrew) Saunders, both of Battle Creek, grandchildren Shelby Ernst, Mason Ernst, Aiden Saunders, and Charlie Saunders, brothers, Earl (Sharon) Batterson, of Harlingen, TX and Jerry (Chris) Batterson, of Battle Creek, sisters, Kathy Jacoby and Debbie Cramer, both of Battle Creek, and Melinda (Dennis) Dennison, of Sherwood, MI.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents. She was a self-taught seamstress and created many quilts, costumes, curtains, and pajama bottoms for her family, especially for her grandchildren.  She adored her grandchildren.  She attended many of their sporting events, field trips, school parties, band concerts, and more. Linda enjoyed camping with her family and was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers.  Linda was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. Family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where services will be held 11 am Wednesday, January 4,2012. Interment will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence
