Lillian A. Jones, age 100 of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born December 17, 1919 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of William and Lillie (Perry) Jones. A 1938 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, she went on to Western Michigan University where she graduated in 1942. She also attended graduate school at the University of Michigan and Argubright Business College. Lillian was a teacher at Parma Schools from 1942 – 1944, Battle Creek Schools from 1944 – 1946 and Argubright Business College from1946 – 1948. She then went to work as an Executive Secretary at General Foods/Post, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Battle Creek Bible Church serving as a Sunday School teacher, American Association of University Women serving as Secretary and Treasurer, Professional Secretaries International serving as President, Post 25 Year Club and General Foods Management Club. She was also a lifetime member of Western Michigan University Alumni Association and served on the YWCA Board as Recording Secretary at the time of the merger with the Y Center. She also attended Sew n Sews at First Presbyterian Church. Lillian enjoyed traveling and has been to all 50 states and several foreign countries. She also has done many watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings both for pleasure and sale. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Dorothy E. Jones. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Larry T. Messer officiating. Arrangements by the Richard A.
