Leo Weipert

Leo J. Weipert, age 93, of Battle Creek passed away August 27, 2016.  He was born December 16, 1922, in Big Rapids, Michigan, the son of Leo and Pauline (Perkins) Weipert.  Leo graduated from Allegan High School in 1942, and lived in the Otsego area before moving to Battle Creek in 1959.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-1946.  Leo worked as a manager at the Detroit Ball Bearing Company from 1949-1984.  He was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church.  He was united in marriage on December 20, 1946 to his wife, Margaret (Story) Weipert, she survives.  Surviving also, are a daughter Sharon Dheel of Harbor Beach, and a son John (Peggy)Weipert of Battle Creek, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.   Leo was preceded in death by a son, James Alan Weipert on October 3, 1969.    In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Richard A.
