Lawrence "Larry" Kazmar

Lawrence C. Kazmar “Larry” 67 of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully early Friday morning May 1, 2020 at his home, the Heritage Assisted Living facility. Larry was born in Chicago, IL to Charles and Mary Kazmar. The family moved to Battle Creek in 1961. Larry graduated with the Lakeview Class of 1971. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  After his service, he went to work for Union Pump Co.  He was an aspiring motorcycle racer.  Larry is survived by his father, Charles Kazmar of Battle Creek; brother, Charles (Bonnie) Kazmar of Marshall, MI; nephew Justin (son Chase) Kazmar of Marshall, MI; niece, Nikki Kazmar of Chicago, IL; sister, Barbara Kazmar of Battle Creek, nephew C. Tyler Lewis (Amanda Gates) of Kalamazoo, MI; nephew, Hunter (Kelsie and baby Ren) Lewis  of Kentwood, MI. Larry was preceded in death by his mom, Mary, maternal and paternal grandparents and aunts and uncles.  A small family service was held Tuesday with interment at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family wishes to send a very special thank you to Larry’s “other” family at the Heritage who sincerely and unconditionally loved and cared for him or the past 7 years and to Elara Caring Hospice for their excellent love and care. In leu of flowers, please reach out to and old friend.  Make the phone call.  Extend a smile and a hello to a stranger.
