Larry Hoedeman

Larry Dale Hoedeman, age 81, of Battle Creek, died Thursday, October 1, 2015 at his home following a short battle with cancer. He was born February 9, 1934 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Leonard and Mildred (Weddendorf) Hoedeman. Larry graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1952 and retired from the Kellogg Company in 1989. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lakeview Kiwanis, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Bedford Rescue Squad and the Kellogg 25 Year Club. He played in the 55 and older softball league, enjoyed playing golf, bowling and cards; and vacations with friends and family. Larry is survived by his wife of 62 years Donna Mae (Smith) Hoedeman of Battle Creek; three daughters: Julie (Nick Gousetis) Wood, Bonnie (Brad) Morgan and Mary (John) Conaris; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Darlene Williams. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Riverside Country Club with Rev. Marshall Murphy officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan or Southwest Michigan Food Bank for the Franklin Pantry.
