Kraig Shetler, 54, of Battle Creek, MI and Las Vegas, NV, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in Battle Creek, MI after a long battle with heart disease. Kraig was born on May 4, 1965 to Betty Erickson Shetler and Jerome Jay Shetler in Minneapolis, MN. After graduating from Harper Creek High School in 1983, Kraig enlisted in the army and then went on to study at Michigan State University graduating in 1989. While at Michigan State, Kraig was active in the Theta Chi fraternity and in the ROTC Core of Engineers. After graduation, he landed his first job as in New Jersey, kicking off a career in Recognition and Convention Services. Kraig had two children, Konnor Shetler and Kassidy Shetler, who survive. Kraig was predeceased by his parents Betty and Jerry Shetler. He is survived by his children Konnor and Kassidy, sisters Kris (Tee) Shetler Bridges and Karin (Derek) Shetler Johnson, nephews Erickson Bridges, Stone Bridges and nieces Elin Johnson and Anna Johnson as well as a host of friends and fraternity brothers. Funeral Services will be held Sunday March 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Kraig will be laid to rest in Fort Custer National Cemetery with military honors on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
