Kenneth W. Glidden, age 73, of Battle Creek, passed away on February 17, 2020 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born on May 26, 1946 in Battle Creek, the son of Ernest and Viola (Winkler) Glidden. Ken was a lifelong area resident of Battle Creek. He graduated from Harper Creek High School in 1964 and received his Associates Degree from Kellogg Community College. Ken served in the United States Marine Corp. for four years. He was married to Carolyn Sue Myers on July 30, 1966, she preceded him in death on May 23, 1995. Ken was employed as vice president and safety director with Sherriff Goslin Roofing, retiring after thirty-four years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #298, where he served as commander three times along with various other positions, Athens VFW Post #5319, and the St. Joseph Dad’s Club. Ken enjoyed softball, bowling, golf, basketball and taking fishing trips. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ernest Glidden Jr., Lewis Case, sisters; Maxine Abbott and Ann Land. Ken was united in marriage to Paula Pickle on May 28, 2003, she survives. Also surviving are sons; Kenneth W. (Theresa) Glidden Jr., Cory (Brandi) Glidden both of Battle Creek, step-sons; David (Anna) McFellin of Hickory, NC., Timothy (Kristi) McFellin of Battle Creek, brother; Rick (Vicki) Glidden of Battle Creek, sisters; Patricia Pacillo of Battle Creek, Dianna (Ron) Johnson of Clio, MI., grandchildren; Justin, Daniel, Taylor, Ryan, Timothy, Rylee, Jacob, Zach, Accalia, Grayson and a great granddaughter; Kendall. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral services are scheduled 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American legion #298. Condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
