Kenneth J. Williams, age 79, of Battle Creek and formerly of Bellevue, died Wednesday, April 14, 2021. Ken is survived by his wife, Clara of Springfield; his brother, James Treat of Bellevue and his four children: Scott Williams of Springfield, Rhonda Alvarado of Lansing, Brad Williams of Rockford and Gregg Williams of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Treat of Bellevue; his father, Ward Williams of Bellevue, his stepfather Bill Treat of Bellevue, and brothers: Floyd Williams of Battle Creek and John Williams of Bellevue. Ken was born on March 8, 1942 in Charlotte Michigan, to parents Florence and Ward. Both he and his wife Clara graduated from Bellevue High School in 1961. After graduation they moved to Chicago Illinois, where Ken attended DeVry Technical College. In 1964, Ken and Clara moved to Grand Ledge Michigan, where Ken accepted a position at Fisher Body Lansing, and Clara began working for the State of Michigan; they built a home and raised their children here, living in Grand Ledge until retirement. Ken was a great family man and a loving father. He married Clara Boyer in 1961 and the couple had four children together. Ken was a social, active man who was deeply involved in UAW Local 602 and the Drummond Island Moose Lodge. He enjoyed snowmobiling, gardening, and volunteering. His family and friends will always remember him as a very kind and loving man. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 20, 2021 at Bellevue First Baptist Church with Pastor Don Francis officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue and a luncheon will be held at the church following the interment service.
