Kay Jean Bowerman, age 64 of Battle Creek, died Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born July 25, 1960 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of David and Jeanette (Marshall) Foight. Kay was raised in Delton, graduating from Delton High School and went on to work at the Battle Creek Federal Center where she retired from the Defense Logistics Agency following more than 20 years of service. Kay was much loved and loved much, she adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her pets as well as feeding the fish at the lake, and enjoyed boating and gardening. On June 6, 2002 Kay was married to Gregg C. Bowerman who survives. She is also survived by her children: Justin McKelvey, Jack McKelvey and Brooke Bowerman; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Gilchrist Foight and Delane Wiltse; brother David Christopher Foight; half-brother Kirk Cook and many nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents Mildred and Donald Olmstead, paternal grandparents George and Mary Foight, brother Michael Olmstead and half-brother Alan Cook. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home to reflect on Kay’s life and share memories. A private interment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. www.henryfuneralhome.org
