Kathleen St. Pierre

Kathleen M. St. Pierre, age 93, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was born October 13, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of James V. and Mary (Barrett) Shanahan. She and her sister Mary were raised by their aunt and uncle, Patrick and Irene Shanahan in Chicago after the death of their mother.  A 1941 graduate of Hyde Park High School, Kay moved to Battle Creek in 1948. On January 17, 1948 she was married to Cletus E. St. Pierre who preceded her in death on August 21, 1990. Kay had worked at the Prudential Insurance Company for 31 years retiring in 1983 and had also worked at Johnson & Johnson for six years while living in Chicago. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a former member of the Battle Creek Health System Auxiliary. Kathleen is survived a special sister in law Peggy Moser, two sisters in law, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Cletus and sister Mary Klaiss. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
