Karla Coy

Karla J. “Penny” Coy, age 71, of Battle Creek, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018. She was born August 7, 1946 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan the daughter of Gerald and Shirlee (Finger) Youngs. Penny was a 1964 graduate of Harper Creek High School, bowled in leagues at M-66 Bowl for several years and enjoyed the morning swim sessions at Harper Creek. For many years she had been active at Harper Creek Baptist Church. On November 6, 1965 Penny was married to Robert E. Coy in Battle Creek, who survives. Also surviving are her three sons: Bob (Julie) Coy, Jr. of Battle Creek, Ted (Melisa) Coy of Charlotte and David (Kimberly) Coy of Florida; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Kathy (Bob Basel) Youngs of Watsonville, California; brother, Gerald “Skip” Youngs of Mascoutah, Illinois; three nieces, one grandniece and one grandnephew. Penny was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson and one nephew. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
