Julian “Joe” Schieffer, 84, of Battle Creek passed away Friday March 30, 2012 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. He was born on August 19, 1927 in Rice Lake, WI to Theodore and Matilda (Prock) Schieffer. Joe married Eva Drallmeier on October 8, 1949 in Rice Lake WI; she preceded him in death in 2008. He was employed by Post Cereals for 29 years retiring in 1987. Surviving are two sons, Tom (Natalie) Schieffer, of Grand Rapids and Todd (Cheryl) Schieffer, of Durango, CO; two daughters, Darline (Duncan) Bailey and Diane (Dave) Eisen, both of Battle Creek, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, five brothers, and three sisters. He was also preceded in death by three brothers. Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Jerome Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking. Joe was also a member of Post Balloon Club, Post 25 year Club, Lakeview Optimist Club, and the Moose. Family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Tuesday April 3, 2012 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Wednesday April 4, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with The Rev. Mark Vyverman officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Calhoun County Medical Care Facility or charity of one’s choice
