Julia Stevens

Julia B. Stevens, 88, of Fine Lake died Sunday March 11, 2012 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on October 15, 1923 in Battle Creek to Carl Ray and Lena (Griffin) Outman. Julia married Floyd Stevens on May 16, 1941 in Angola, IN; he preceded her in death on June 16, 1967. She was employed by the Kellogg Company for several years. Julia is survived by sons, Gary L. (Loralee) Stevens, of Delton, John A. (Michele) Stevens, of Battle Creek, a daughter, Linda C. Smead, of Ceresco, 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, a brother, Robert (Ginny) Outman, sisters, Ethel Camp, Dortha (Robert) Whitman, and Gladys Van Wormer. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Sondra J. Pacheco and Brenda K. Hill, a son-in-law, Philip J. Smead, one granddaughter, Julie Stevens, two brothers Carl Jr. and Donald Outman. Julia enjoyed growing plants, gardening, feeding the birds, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Friday March 16, 2012 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hickory Cemetery, Hickory Corners, MI. Family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm Thursday March 15, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or American Legion Post #484 in Hickory Corners
