Juanita Sass

Juanita A. Sass, 84, loving mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma passed away Friday, December 26, 2014. She was born February 5, 1930 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Donald and Gertrude (Casewell) Munger. On September 17, 1949 she married Lester Sass Jr, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Donna Goodson and Marie Fleece and her brother Jim Munger. She was very close with her girls and all her grandkids and great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids. Her favorite things were spending time with her family, going shopping and trips to the casino. Juanita is survived by her daughters: Linda (Jay) Landers, Sue (David) Seamans and Judy (Joe) Whitney; a son: Don (Carol) Sass; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marion Balch and Eva (Boyd) Crannell; and two very special and close friends: Ione Judd and Joan Harvey. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Anderson of Urbandale Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. www.henryfuneralhome.org
