Joyce Colleen Daniel, Age 87, Of Battle Creek, Died Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Evergreen Senior Care and Rehab Center. Joyce was born on November 26, 1927, in Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of Harry K. and Clara I. (Davis) Doyle. She had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Lakeview High School. On January 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Phillip DeWight Daniel who survives. Joyce had been employed with Bell Telephone Co., as a long distance operator from 1945 to 1948. She then had several part time jobs including AAA Insurance Co., Bijou Theater, church secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church and always and foremost a homemaker. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to read, and enjoyed painting with water colors and drawing in pencil. Surviving are her children, Linda J.(Bob) Avani and Phillip K. (Linda) Daniel both of Battle Creek; 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; Brother, James (Karin) Doyle of St. Claire Shores; sisters-in-law; Rose Milhoun, June Mathews and Pat Doyle of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Daniel in 1991; sisters, Clara Wittrock and Pat Mansfield; brothers, Harry Doyle, Frederick “Barney” Doyle and Brian “Buzz” Doyle. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
