Joseph Harvath

Joseph L. Harvath, Age 69, Of East Leroy, Died Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Joseph was born on November 10, 1943, in Hastings, MI, the son of Joseph and Viola (Terpening) Harvath. He had been a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Harper Creek High School in 1962. In December of 1968, he was united in marriage to his wife of 45 years, the former Patricia L.  Eyre who survives. He was employed at Post Cereals for 30 years retiring in 1999. Joe was a member of the Kalamazoo Valley Antique Tractor Club, Graham-Bradley Tractor Club, P.O.C.I. and the Post 25 Year Club. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, Graham- Bradley Tractors and landscaping around his home. Surviving are sisters: Betty and Bob Knoll of Hastings, MI and Shirley and Mike McNea of Centreville,VA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Orlando Slack. Visitation will be held today from 5 to 8:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Leroy Congregational Cemetery.
