John Wulf

November 11, 1931 — October 14, 2017

Of Tullahoma, TN, departed this earthly life at the age of 85 on Saturday evening, October 14th, 2017 at his home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Born in Kouts, Indiana on November 11th, 1931, he was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Wulf and Laura Kosanke Wulf and sister, Lois Wulf. Within hours, John was joined in Heaven by his brother-in-law, Chas "Parky" Taylor of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, R. Joyce Wulf and their three children, daughter, Sharon (Tom) Kleinfeld and sons, John (Becky) Wulf Jr. and Jim Wulf. He was the loving grandfather of Janette (Jason) Smith, John (Rachel) Wulf, Jake (Jamie) Wulf, Shawna (BJ) Denby, Heather Kleinfeld, Ed Lawrence, Kristen Kleinfeld and James (Kayla) Wulf. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Josh, Skylar, Samerra, Ryan, Sayde, Breanna, Sasha, Alice Jo, and Joseph. John is also survived by his two sisters, Marilyn Taylor of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Carol (Dennis) Oberly of Northville, Michigan; three sister-in-law, Shirley Harris, Delores Worthington and Jane Worthington, as well as several nieces and nephews. John attended Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, Michigan where he met the love of his life, Joyce. In December of 1950, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he became a Staff Sgt. serving until December of 1954. He received his private pilot's license and graduated from Western Michigan University in 1958. John worked at Cleveland Pneumatic (now United Technologies) in the Marketing and Contracts division and retired as manager of the operations in the engineering and development department after 32 years in 1994. He was a devoted member for 38 years of Faith Lutheran Church in Tullahoma, where he served as an elder, a trustee and helped on the church's building expansion project. In 2013 as part of the Honor Flight of Middle Tennessee, John and other military veterans were transported to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices. He loved golfing, RV camping, hunting, fishing, watching car races and most of all, spending time with his family. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-8:00 at Kilgore Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 18th, 2017. Funeral services will he held on Thursday, October 19th, 2017 at 11:00am at Faith Lutheran Church in Tullahoma. Interment will take place in Battle Creek, Michigan following a graveside service at 11:00am on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 at Battle Creek Memorial Park. Donations may be made in memory of John to the Honor Flight of Middle Tennessee, P.O. Box 1926, Tullahoma, Tennessee 37388 as well as Faith Lutheran Church, 101 Bragg Circle, Tullahoma, Tennessee 37388.
